Frequently Asked Questions
Who can access services?
Individuals who are 18 years of age or older, who are experiencing or will be experiencing withdrawal from substance use.
What are the hours of service?
The Detox Program is open 24/7. Our Day Program runs Monday through Friday from 9:15 – 3:30pm. Our Pre Treatment program is residential and runs 24/7.
How can I access services?
Individuals can call the Centre at (780) 791-2525. Our staff will ask a few questions and then let you know if there is a bed available. If there is not a bed available then you can be added to our waitlist and you will be called once there is a bed for you.
What is the cost for services?
There is no cost to individuals for any of our current programs.
Who can refer to your programs?
Majority of our referrals are self-referrals. However, we do take referrals from other agencies and organizations. We would still need to talk to the individual who is looking for services to ask some intake questions.
What services do you provide?
We are currently offering 4 main programs.
- Detox Program
- Day Program
- Pre-Treatment Program
- Fort McMurray Drug Treatment Court Program
How long are the programs at Pastew Place?
The length of stay in detox depends on the individual and the substances they are using. Typically the stay is 5-7 days but can be longer or shorter depending on assessments during the stay.
The Pre Treatment Program is usually around 2-3 weeks, however this can be longer due to various treatment centre intake dates.
The Day Program is a 5 day program. If individuals want to participate for multiple weeks, that is welcomed.

What should I bring with me for my stay?
We suggest bringing minimal personal items for your stay. Below are some items you would want to bring;
- A few changes of clothes and some PJs (we do have laundry machines to wash your clothes if needed).
- Pair of slippers
- Any toiletries you may want
- Books or things to read
- Medications
Can I bring electronics for my stay?
We ask that you leave any electronics at home. When you arrive at the Centre for intake we will give you some time to take any phone numbers you may need from your phone and then your phone will be locked up until you discharge.
